The goal of the program is to be a quick transition for these career changers. In a total of 27 months students of the program will get a bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing. The first 14 months will consist of the bachelor's work that is required to get the registered nurse license, and the rest, the master's work will be done online.
More and more people are starting to do mid-career changes due to a variety of reasons: job satisfaction, lay-offs, feeling stalled in one's career, or just the promise of greener pastures. Many of these career changers are opting for nursing as their new career of choice. The reasons are just as varied as the reasons they are leaving. Some like nursing's prospects for growth, other's like the financial rewards due to the nursing shortage, and some just like the giving aspect of nursing. Whatever, the reason, these are the people who, with the help of University of Indianapolis will make the nursing shortage possible to overcome.
