Prairie View A&M Nursing Students Caught Cheating
2008-05-30 00:04Prairie View A&M University's staff has caught 11 nursing students who were cheating on their comprehensive exam. This exam takes about four to five hours to complete, and though the students were allowed to take breaks, the students were caught text messaging about exam questions while taking the test. Other students noticed the cheating and alerted the staff.
The students went to student hearings and admitted guilt, however the details of who did what and how many were involved is still hazy. Eleven students have been reprimanded: they will not be allowed to graduate with their classmates, and will be required to re-enroll in the course and take an additional course in ethics. Ten of the students have agreed to come back in the next semester, however one student has not responded. Nursing is a tough course, however cheating is not the way to pass it, I don't think anyone would trust a nurse who passed by cheating.
