Nursing 100 Years Old in Canada

The nursing profession has turned a 100 years old in Canada this year. Nurses there are celebrating by telling others about the diversity of the nursing profession and about careers in nursing. Nursing touches nearly every area of our lives, from our family practice nurses to nurses on oil platforms and in the navy.

The history of nursing in America goes back to 1873, when Linda Richards first graduated from nursing school in America. Though nursing itself is quite old, starting when the first non-physician applied a band-aid. I don't think there is an official record for when nursing actually first began, however nursing itself is a very noble and necessary profession.
