Mid-Career Change to Nursing
2008-06-06 13:41Due to economic factors, namely the recession that we are facing and the resulting job losses, and the increasing demand for nurses, many newly laid off workers are looking to do a mid-career shift into nursing. For these mid-career shifters there are many programs, and more are created every day.
Nursing is becoming more in demand due to two forces. For one, many nurses are baby boomers and they are reaching retirement age, they will leave nursing and require greater medical care, acting as a double edged to worsen the nursing shortage. Plus, in the general population, the baby boomers are reaching retirement age and will need more medical care, hence resulting in an increase in demand for healthcare services and, of course, nurses. Request some information from schools to get a better idea of what exactly what is on offer, good luck.
